AQUALAT anthracite filter media is a highly efficient water filtration material known for its superior hydrodynamic properties, enhanced contaminant capacity, and durability. It is widely used in industrial and municipal water treatment processes for both open and closed grain filters.
AQUALAT anthracite features a unique natural porosity of 36%, making it 1.5 to 2 times more efficient than traditional anthracite filters with only 10-15% porosity. This increased porosity boosts the filter's contaminant capacity, making it up to four times more effective than similarly sized sand media. It also reduces water consumption for backwashing by 1.5 times, delivering cost savings and greater overall efficiency.
The filter media is characterized by low ash (up to 5%) and sulfur content (up to 1%), and its grains are isometrically shaped to ensure high filtration performance. Its high mechanical strength, low wearability, and resistance to chemical corrosion further enhance its longevity, making it a cost-effective solution for water treatment.
Increased Filtration Efficiency: AQUALAT anthracite's superior porosity and grain structure improve contaminant removal, resulting in cleaner water.
Reduced Backwash Frequency: Requires 1.5 times less water for backwashing compared to sand media, reducing operational costs.
Longer Media Lifespan: Its higher mechanical strength and resistance to wear provide twice the lifespan of quartz sand filters.
Lower Coagulant/Flocculant Usage: Reduces the need for chemical additives by 15-20%, leading to further cost savings.
Smaller Footprint: Due to its effectiveness, smaller filters and treatment plants can be designed, cutting down on capital investment.
